Energy Storage and Backup

Use what you generate by day in the evening; keep the fridge, lights and internet running during an outage. Where there is no grid, it runs fully independently.

Three needs, three configurations

1. Hybrid PV (solar + battery). Surplus daytime generation charges the battery; in the evening you draw from the battery instead of the grid. Self-consumption goes up, and critical loads keep running in an outage.

2. Backup only. A battery and hybrid inverter are added to your existing grid connection. It works without solar panels; selected circuits switch to battery automatically the moment the grid drops. The most popular configuration in complexes with frequent outages.

3. Off-grid. Where the power line doesn’t reach — land, a vineyard house, a boat shed — you build your own grid with solar + battery + (optional) generator support. This is the one exception: otherwise our aim is to support the grid, not to replace it.

Components

  • Battery: TommaTech LV LFP lithium modules, from 5 kWh and modular; indoor and outdoor options
  • Inverter: TommaTech single-/three-phase hybrid with grid–solar–battery management and cloud monitoring
  • Critical-load board: We decide together at the survey which circuits stay live in an outage

Sizing approach

We don’t size the battery on “bigger is better” but on your evening consumption and the load you want to carry through an outage. In a typical home 5–10 kWh covers most scenarios; more than that stretches the payback. We show this with numbers in the quote.
